Why does the servce 4WD light not come on?

The 4Hi and 4Lo lights just flash but 4WD does not engage. Also the ‘SERVCE 4WD’ light does NOT come on ruling out transfer cases problems. Get under the front of the truck and check the actuator. It is a silver cylinder on top of the axle as I said before.
