Why does the difflock light keep flashing on my Hilux 4×4?

The flashing light indicates that the difflock has not yet engaged or you are trying to switch the difflock on in 2H or 4H. Difflock can only be engaged in 4L, the difflock will also only engage when there is a difference in the rotational speed of the back wheels, then light will stop flashing.

When does the selected position indicator light stop flashing?

The selected position indicator light will flash until the transfer case completes the shift. When the shift is complete, the indicator light for the selected position will stop flashing and remain ON. If any of the shift conditions are not met, the indicator position light will continue to flash. You cannot be in gear for it to work.
