Why does my GMC Duramax have no power to trailer?

Turned out that upon closer inspection the 40A fuse for Stud#1 was blown. It looked fine from the top but when I pulled it out it was no good. If it is hooked up and did blow a fuse it would be one of the square ones furthest inboard that protects the #1 post. Your slide must have overloaded the fuse. Mine is a 40 amp if I remember correctly.

Can a Chevy Silverado tow without a brake controller?

Apparently, GM got a little smarter with their tow vehicles …. my 2015 Silverado 2500HD had 12V power at the trailer plug without doing anything and a brake controller is actually standard. Hook’em_Horns! It sucks that the brake controller and the 12V power is not ready for towing on these trucks….

The trailer battery ring terminal on Stud #2 is fused with 30 Amp Maxi-Fuse. This circuit provides power to the MBEC TRLR connector inside the cab. I have no idea why you would have power to both sides of the stud 2 fuse but stud 2 would not be powered.

50 miles isn’t much for a totally drained house battery. Meter across the -ground and aux+12v pins on the 7-way plug at the rear of the truck, checking for output. Truck is not detecting the trailer. I have a 5 pin from the harness to a 7pin adapter (new and old adapter have been tried). No brakes are installed on the trailer, that wire is not grounded but is terminated. Trailer lights work when connected to my Yukon. Trailer has 4 led running lights and 2 led tail lights.
