What does a flashing oil light mean on a VW T4?
A flashing oil light at all engine speeds (and without buzzer above 2k RPM) is indicative of a missing engine speed signal (alternator ‘w’ terminal) – check to make sure that the instrument cluster is getting the correct engine speed signal from the w terminal of the alternator. 1 Disconnect the wire to the high pressure sensor on the filter housing and let it float (un-connected). 2 The oil buzzer should now come on and indicator will flash when the van engine speed is above 2000 RPM. 3 Now connect the yellow wire to ground and rev the engine past 2000 RPM… the buzzer should not sound at all.
Why is the oil pressure warning light flashing on my T4?
Couple of weeks ago the alternator went on my 2000, T4 1.9 TD. At the same time the rev counter started jumping around and the oil pressure warning light started flashing and beeping. I got the alternator fixed (I also had to replace the battery).

Why is the oil light blinking on my VW?
No Just When Im Regular Driving – most of the time its after i come off the highway and im go from going 70 to about 45 it will cut on. If the engine is loud, then you really do have low oil PRESSURE. Stop driving that NOW and have the oil pan removed and inspect the oil pick up tube.
