How much does it cost to put a surfboard on a plane?
Many airlines charge $100 or more each way to take surfboards as checked baggage. A few charge nothing. So check it out before you check it in. And be glad you’re not a professional surfer.
Is Singapore Airlines strict on baggage allowance?

Are musical instruments allowed on airplanes?

Can I bring my own food on Singapore Airlines?
In addition to SFA’s guidelines, we may restrict the carriage of food items in your cabin and/or checked baggage if these items are deemed offensive to other passengers (for example, food items that give a strong smell). How do I protect my surfboard on a plane?
Painter’s tape is best, as it leaves no residue.
- Remove the fins from your surfboard, and put them in the pocket.
- Push the pipe insulation onto the rails of your surfboard, and wrap the tape around your board so the insulation doesn’t come off.
- Load the surfboard into your bag, and you’re ready to go!
