How do you turn off the interior lights on a Yukon?

To turn off interior lamp lights while hatch is open you must take a knife or screwdriver and push the hitch up in the latching mechanism. Begin to push the hatch down as though your closing, when it gets to about 80%-90% closed, interior lamps will turn off.

Why are my interior lights not turning off?

I had two wires get too hot and they melted together. One of the wires was a 12v constant and the other one, I am guessing, controlled the inside lights…it took forever to figure out what was going on. I would check your wiring and make sure you dont have any wires touching that should not be touching. Electrical issues suck.

Why is my dome light not turning off?

Normal bulbs. The dome light white wire is negative switched. Remove the dome and do continuity from the white wire to ground, disconnect the driver side door switch and see if that opens the circuit. If not continue on with the footwells then to the headlight switch till you get an open circuit. Boost.

What to do if your headlight does not turn off?

Taking the entire dash off is a pain in the a$$ ( if you want to see all of the wires). Hope this helps. Well after replacing almost everything ( Keyless remote module, door jam switches, etc) the problem so far has been fixed by replacing the headlight dimmer switch with a brand new one, I was able to get one on ebay for only $40.00. So far so good.

Why does my headlight switch keep getting hot?

Click to expand… Sounds like you were on the right track with the headlight switch. Probably a circuit is shorted and its burning up the switch. I’d replace the h/s again and see if you can tell which ckt is getting hot. Not sure that helps, but around here finding the solution will always help others.

Why does my dome light keep going on?

Sounds like your left door switch is defective, which is incorrectly sensing that the door is open….which is why your dome light is going on. Thanks for the reply…..I will check into that. Whatever this is that’s causing it is driving me crazy.
