6 people found this helpful. 1990 cord ranger new fuel filter replaced disturbuter first time lasted 2 weeks then it strayed stalling. Replaced it at in and two weeks stalled at in.twice keeps dying after it warms up. New cool ignation module.

What causes a spark on a Ford Ranger?

That will only check the coil output, if you don’t have a trigger signal from the ICM then the coil wont fire. The distributor pick up generates the magnetic pluse that the ICM reads and generates a trigger signal and sends that to the ignition coil and in turn if it has stable incoming voltage fires a spark. 7 people found this helpful.
