Where is the oil line routing on a Shovelhead?
Behind the pump and sort of under the rear motor mount area there is another fitting. It’s threaded into a larger 1/4″ IPS hole in the case (all of the other oil fittings are threaded into a 1/8″ IPS hole). This specific fitting is not on the same face of the case the pump bolts up to…it’s further back.

77-80: The hose should run straight up under the seat and then loop back down (without kinks). 81-85:The hose should run under the starter Over (all oil lines and the rear brake line) and down between the pivot bolt and swing arm (without kinks).

The outboard fitting on the pump is the FEED. You connect the bottom oil supply from the tank to that fitting at the pump. NOTHING ever gets plumbed in that line, not ever. Just above the oil pump there is another hose fitting in the cases…that is the case vent…it gets plumbed to the vent fitting at the oil tank.
How to get rid of primary chain oiler?
Plug the return and vent holes in the primary cover, use the oil feed fitting on the primary as a vent. Block off the oil feed line on the pump. Run a straight hose from pump to oil tank vent to eliminate the Tee that is currently in place and do something with the oil return fitting at the case. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Where does the return from the oil pump go?
