Where is the fuse for the four-wheel drive on a 2000 Chevy Silverado?
The fuse box is located on the driver’s side of the instrument panel, behind the cover.

Why is my 4 wheel drive not working?
If it isn’t changing out of 4 low, confirm the fuse is good (indicated in pic) and power is to the switch. If you have power and 4low works properly when in 4wd, the I suspect the switch is bad. Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.
Why does my Chevy Silverado not go into 4WD?
Wire brushed it down and nothing changed. My 4wd would blink but not engage. It would engage into lower gear in 4lo but wouldn’t actually go into 4wd. Taking a closer look at the wires, I noticed that there is a small ground wire that was hidden in the tube that got unconnected. Simply put a new connector on it and works like a charm now!

Why is my 4WD not working on my Chevy Silverado?
When shifted out of 4wd, the switch opens up and no voltage goes to the actuator. I would check voltage at the connector for the front actuator (at the front differential – it looks like a large bullet that threads into the front diff.) If it has 12 volts, the actuator is the problem.
Why are there no lights on my 4WD?
2006 silverado 1500. 4×4 would not engage on mine. I would receive service 4wd message on dash and 4wd switch would change light locations randomly. Changed swich and it did not fix the problem.
