Where does the AMP meter go on a jalopy?
All the amps of the battery traveled up that wire through the amp meter in the dash out to the ground in the alt. The amp meter actually held up pretty good under that catastrophic load. It was toast but so was the alternator. Yes the cabin filled with smoke and it wasted the wiring.
