Running great, but check engine still on. Old oem muffler was rattling at idle for months but still quiet while driving so I put it off. Finally got new aftermarket muffler installed, went out on freeway anf pedal to the metal. Olay!

If your not using delco plugs in this motor that can be a big contributor to your problem. GM vortec engines hate anything but vortec plugs and will do all kinds of weird things. And yes a clogged converter could cause this sort of thing to happen. Are the O2 codes upstream or downstream?
