Is the air intake sensor OK in a Vauxhall Corsa C?

So I figured one for those needs replacing, only problem is that in trying to diagnose a hunting at idle and slight power issue I unplugged the MAF (which may mean the MAF is ok).

No it’s not normally the MAF sensor faulty when you disconnect it and its better, it just puts into limp home mode, the thing to do is do a code test or test the maf senser operation with a multi tester….Fred in Essex. The TSB refers to the faulty boost hose that has become a common problem with this car which will give you a maf fault.

The MAF is one of the sensors in the air intake system but a fault elsewhere in air intake can make a sensor give a different reading whilst trying to compensate for a fault elsewhere .

Yeah the “foot pedal trick” can sometimes miss faults. If performance is crap then it definitely MAF sensor. Just get a new one and things will be back to normal. Also misfiring could mean spark plugs?
